Feeding your wild birds with Birdola®Plus™ makes good sense. For the consumer, it is convenient. Simply unwrap the two-pound cake, and insert it into Birdola® Products' specially designed feeder. No more heavy bags to lift and break in your trunk. No more storage hassles (you have to keep the critters out!). You can even keep Birdola®Plus™ in the fridge until you need it. More important, Birdola®Plus™ is good for birds. It has a gourmet mix of premium seeds, with no "junk", or waste seeds that birds simply kick out of a bulk mix (this includes oats, barley and wheatgrass).

Birdola®Plus™ is a cake of seeds that allows birds to simply peck their favorite seed, while the remainder of the cake stays intact. Birdola®Plus™ is held together with a natural protein binder, so it's good for birds. We also add calcium for strong bones and eggshells, and grit to aid in digestion. Birdola® Products consulted with a nutrition lab and Cornell Ornithology Lab to make Birdola® even better. We now add vitamins, minerals and electrolytes to make as complete a meal as possible. The additives contribute to the overall good health of wild birds. A bird that is strong and healthy can survive better in the wild. Natural coloring is maximized, and the immune and reproductive systems are strong, helping ward off diseases. Healthier birds produce healthier offspring. Using these additives led us to call our enhanced cake Birdola®Plus™ .

Even our Birdola® wire feeder is designed for the consumer's convenience, and for the health of wild birds. The hanging chain is hooked to the access door. After the feeder is loaded, the weight pulls on the chain, holding the door closed. This keeps the cake safely inside, and unwanted critters can't take the cake from the feeder. The lobster trap wire is very sturdy, and allows birds to feed from any area of the cake. The feeder has perches for birds that require one. Studies have shown that one of the primary ways that avian diseases spread is through soiled feeders, and spoiled, moldy seeds. Some feeders (especially the platform type) allow birds to stand in the seeds, and shuffle around to find their favorite seeds. Birds are not very careful where they evacuate (go to the bathroom), so inevitably, some fecal matter ends up on the seeds. If the bird has an illness, the next bird that eats a contaminated seed is very likely to contract the disease as well. By using a Birdola®Plus™ cake and feeder, you are feeding only clean seeds. If a bird evacuates while at our feeder, the waste falls to the ground, not in their food.

To maintain a healthy feeding area, it is essential to keep your feeder clean, as well as the area under the feeder. Monthly cleaning with Birdola® Wild Bird Feeder Cleaner will go a long way in preventing the spread of wild bird diseases. The most common diseases are E.coli, Salmonella, Avian Pox, and Finch Disease. Regular cleaning can reduce the threat of infections. Our feeder cleaner works on most any feeder surface. It can even be used to clean your bird bath. Our wild bird feeder cleaner is nontoxic, but make sure to rinse and dry the feeder thoroughly before replacing the seed. Dampness can cause the fresh seeds to mold, so a dry feeder is very important. You should also regularly clean under your feeder. Remove old husks and seeds. This area can also be a breeding ground for diseases, if not cleaned regularly. A clean feeding area makes for healthier, happier birds!
